ART on 5th is a contemporary art gallery in a city already so well known for its dedication to the arts. The gallery is very museum like, very large, with lots of places to sit and take in the experience. In a business where the average life span is less than two years, ART on 5th has made its mark with blockbuster shows featuring the artwork of Grace Slick of Jefferson Airplane, Ronnie Wood of the Rolling Stones, John Lennon, Jerry Garcia of the Grateful Dead, Peter Max, and Andy Warhol. The gallery is also very proud to host the largest collection of Dr. Seuss art in the country, as well as promote several of Austin’s most talented local artists. In addition to featuring ongoing exhibits of the gallery’s stable of over 40 artists, ART on 5th welcomes touring exhibitions from Washington, Chicago, and Montreal, and has become well known for its exhibitions of original vintage posters several times a year. Multiple time winner of the Austin Chronicle’s “Best Gallery” award, and 2008 winner of Austin360.com’s A List “Best Gallery, Austinites and visitors alike continue to applaud the colorful and eclectic gathering of local, Texas, national and international artists on display. ART on 5th is also known as the killer frame shop in town due to the staff's innovative design sense and quality museum quality custom framing.
